SEYFR in 7 Days — How One Tool Connected the World for File Sharing
What our first week actually showed—and what it did not prove.

One week after SEYFR’s first public release, we saw interest from several countries. That was encouraging—but our early wording confused website traffic with verified product use. This is the corrected account.
What we measured
Our website analytics showed visitors from the United States, United Kingdom, Mexico, Finland, the Dominican Republic, Uganda, Germany and Poland. Website location data is approximate, and a visit does not prove that somebody installed the app or completed a transfer.
The evidence we can responsibly separate is:
- Website interest: visits measured by Google Analytics.
- Store activity: impressions, product-page views, acquisitions and installs reported by Apple, Google and Microsoft.
- Working transfers: tests performed by our team and feedback from external users who told us what devices and conditions they tested.
Those are useful signals, but they are not interchangeable.
What SEYFR does
SEYFR transfers user-selected files between supported Android, iPhone, iPad, macOS, Windows and Linux devices. It uses Iroh networking to attempt a direct, encrypted connection. When a direct route is unavailable, Iroh can use an end-to-end encrypted relay that forwards the bytes without being able to read the file contents.
SEYFR does not require a SEYFR account or a JITPOMI cloud-drive upload. It sends the selected bytes without intentional recompression. A QR code or transfer token carries connection directions and a 32-byte BLAKE3 content hash—not the file itself.
We should therefore not describe every transfer as “always direct,” “serverless,” or guaranteed to run at the maximum possible speed. Network conditions, device storage, platform limits and relay availability all matter.
What happened after launch
SEYFR is now available through Google Play, the Apple App Store and Mac App Store, Microsoft Store, and a Linux download. External users have reported successful transfers, including a test between the United States and Australia. Our YouTube channel also documents real transfers under the conditions shown in each video.
Distribution remains the challenge. Store availability proves that people can obtain the product; it does not prove that enough people are discovering, installing or retaining it. That is why we now measure the journey separately: source → website visit → store click → store-reported acquisition or install.
What we learned
Early attention is not the same as adoption. Our job is to publish evidence, label it correctly and improve from what the numbers actually show.
